Six Venezuelan nationals, who were being held at the Immigration Detention Centre, were repatriated to their home country on Thursday (September 26, 2024).
The group, which included five males and one female, had been found to have entered Trinidad and Tobago illegally and deported as part of a repatriation exercise.
The six persons departed from the Port of Cedros aboard the Angel Del Orinoco 2.
A statement issued by the Police Service says this exercise is part of an ongoing initiative by the TTPS Immigration Investigations Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department/Criminal Records Office (CID/CRO).
It was coordinated by the Chief Immigration Officer, Snr Supt Guy Alleyne, Supt Ettienne, ASP Sookdeo, Insp Phillip, and Sgt Daula.
