A 40-year-old man who was the main sus­pect in con­nec­tion with a re­port of rob­bery with vi­o­lence on Mon­day was to­day de­nied bail be­fore a Rio Claro Mag­is­trate.

Stew­art Boo­choon aka ‘Ste­wee’ of Navet Vil­lage, Rio Claro, was de­nied bail by Mag­is­trate Nizam Khan af­ter plead­ing not guilty to the charges of rob­bery with vi­o­lence and ma­li­cious dam­age.

Boo­choon is ex­pect­ed to reap­pear be­fore the court on Jan­u­ary 23rd, 2023, to an­swer the charges. He was charged yes­ter­day by PC Suther­land of the Rio Claro Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment (CID). Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, at 9 am on De­cem­ber 12, a man was dri­ving his ve­hi­cle to his house af­ter gar­den­ing when he stopped along Ram­paul Trace, Junc­tion, Navet Vil­lage, Rio Claro, due to traf­fic.

Up­on stop­ping, the dri­ver saw a man who he knows ap­proach­ing him who al­leged­ly de­mand­ed that he hand­ed over mon­ey.

The sus­pect re­port­ed­ly cuffed the dri­ver on the right side of his head who be­came fear­ful and gave cash to the sus­pect.

Dur­ing the in­ci­dent, the dri­ver’s spec­ta­cles was al­so dam­aged.
