A new agreement signed between Trinidad and Tobago and Paraguay now makes it possible for persons holding T&T passports visit Paraguay for up to 90 days without a visa, the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs has confirmed.
Minister Dr Amery Browne signed the agreement with Paraguay's Foreign Affairs Minister, Rubén Darío Ramírez Lezcano, while attending the 54th Regular Session of the General Assembly of the Organisation of American States (OAS) in Asunción, Republic of Paraguay from June 26 to June 28, 2024.
"This Agreement would allow bearers of diplomatic, official or ordinary passports from Trinidad and Tobago to enter, transit, stay or leave Paraguay without need of a visa, for a period not exceeding 90 days and vice-versa," the Ministry said in a release.
Any travel over 90 days then requires a visa.
According to the Ministry, this is the country's first-ever agreement with the Government of Paraguay.
"It opens up new possibilities for increased people-to-people exchanges, trade, investment, tourism and diplomatic contact," the Ministry noted.
