Two Chaguanas men were sentenced to 12 months of hard labour for robbing a mini-mart. The suspects appeared before Magistrate Adrian Darmanie at the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday. The following is a press release from the TTPS:
Two Chaguanas men were arrested on Sunday 26th September, 2021 following investigations into a report of storeroom breaking and larceny at a mini-mart in Chaguanas.
UHDO BOODOO, 40, of Endeavour Road, Endeavour, Chaguanas and STEPHON KHAN, 29, of Rajkumar Street, Endeavour Road, Chaguanas were jointly charged by PC Marshall on Monday 27th September, 2021 for storeroom breaking and larceny of one Wisnow air conditioner compressor.
They appeared before Magistrate Adrian Darmanie at the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 28th September, 2021, and were both sentenced to 12 months’ hard labour. On September 25th, 2021, the owner of a mini-mart located on Endeavour Road, Endeavour, Chaguanas secured her business around 5:30 pm.
When she returned the following day at 7:45 am, she found the shop burglarized and one Wisnow AC compressor valued at $1,500 missing. Investigations were conducted by PC Marshall of the Chaguanas Police Station and led to the arrest of the suspects.
