An un­em­ployed Barataria man has ap­peared be­fore a Mas­ter of the High Court, charged with the mur­der of Emer­ine Hare­wood, which oc­curred on Sep­tem­ber 4, 2024.

In ad­di­tion to the mur­der charge, the Po­lice Ser­vice re­ports that 29-year-old Car­lon Joseph (al­so known as ‘Two Face’) was charged with pos­ses­sion of a firearm and pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion, when he ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter Franklin in the High Court North B, on Tues­day 17 De­cem­ber 2024.

The Suf­fi­cien­cy Hear­ing date has been set for June 17, 2025.

Emer­ine Hare­wood, 49, a handy­man of Barataria, was shot and killed on Sep­tem­ber 4, 2024, in the dis­trict.

Of­fi­cers of the Barataria Po­lice Sta­tion ar­rest­ed a male sus­pect in con­nec­tion with the mat­ter on De­cem­ber 9, 2024.

Fol­low­ing ad­vice re­ceived from Act­ing Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions, Sab­ri­na Dougdeen-Jaglal, on De­cem­ber 14, Car­lon ‘Two Face’ Joseph was charged with the of­fences by WPC Di­az of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions (HBI) Re­gion Two, on De­cem­ber 17.
