The Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty (WASA) is de­nounc­ing as “false and mis­lead­ing”, the im­pli­ca­tions of a video cur­rent­ly in cir­cu­la­tion of re­pair works to a 48-inch trans­mis­sion pipeline at the Ca­roni Wa­ter Treat­ment Plant.

In a me­dia re­lease, WASA says the video in ques­tion does not ac­cu­rate­ly rep­re­sent the facts as­so­ci­at­ed with the re­pairs un­der­tak­en on the pipeline.

The Au­thor­i­ty says it is com­mit­ted to open and hon­est com­mu­ni­ca­tion with stake­hold­ers and that act­ing Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer, Kelvin Ro­main, ad­dressed this mat­ter trans­par­ent­ly, dur­ing me­dia tours of the job­site on Thurs­day and Fri­day.

WASA says in events of un­planned dis­rup­tions, it will keep the na­tion­al com­mu­ni­ty in­formed via of­fi­cial chan­nels and urged its cus­tomers to ref­er­ence those chan­nels for ac­cu­rate in­for­ma­tion.
