A 33-year-old female employee of the Port-of-Spain City Corporation (POSCC) was ambushed and shot on Monday morning in Belmont.
The incident occurred around 6:30 am along Lovers Lane.
Police said the woman, identified as Onella Parks, was on her way to work when a lone gunman approached her and opened fire. The gunman then ran away.
Parks was taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
Police officers are currently on the scene as investigations continue.
