The Nor­mal­iza­tion Com­mit­tee of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Foot­ball As­so­ci­a­tion (TTFA) an­nounced the re-ap­point­ment of Amer­i­can Con­stan­tine Kon­stin as head­coach of the T&T Men’s Na­tion­al Fut­sal Team on Sun­day.

Kon­stin, who 38 years of na­tion­al and in­ter­na­tion­al coach­ing ex­pe­ri­ence at all lev­els in the US, and his staff were orig­i­nal­ly ap­point­ed in 2020 by the TTFA Tech­ni­cal Com­mit­tee which was head­ed by then-chair­man Kei­th Look Loy, but the prepa­ra­tion was cut short due to the coro­n­avirus (COVID-19) pan­dem­ic.

FI­FA and CON­CA­CAF have con­firmed that the Con­ca­caf Fut­sal Cham­pi­onships will now take place in Guatemala from 30 April to 9 May 2021 and Kon­stin, a FI­FA and Con­ca­caf Fut­sal in­struc­tor, and his staff will once again be giv­en the reigns to lead the T&T team.

The 10-day tour­na­ment is ex­pect­ed to at­tract 20 CON­CA­CAF Mem­ber As­so­ci­a­tions: Cana­da, Cos­ta Ri­ca, Cu­ba, Cu­ra­cao, Do­mini­can Re­pub­lic, El Sal­vador, French Guiana, Guade­loupe, Guatemala, Haiti, Mar­tinique, Mex­i­co, Nicaragua, Pana­ma, Puer­to Ri­co, Saint Kitts/Nevis, Saint Maarten, Suri­name and the Unit­ed States.

This com­pe­ti­tion is for qual­i­fi­ca­tion to the FI­FA Fut­sal World Cup Lithua­nia in Sep­tem­ber/Oc­to­ber 2021.

The list of play­ers has been in­vit­ed to re­sume train­ing with the team in prepa­ra­tion for the Cham­pi­onship. The first ses­sion is sched­uled for Tues­day at the Ato Boldon Sta­di­um (paved area at the en­trance and next to the Beach Soc­cer pitch). The ses­sion be­gins at 6:30 pm and per­sons are re­quired to be present thir­ty (30) min­utes be­fore the start. The play­er asks to wear a red and white jer­sey.
