St Joseph’s Con­vent, St Joseph re­mains on course for an­oth­er triple cham­pi­onship in the Un­der-16, U-14 and Girls Open di­vi­sions of the Sec­ondary Schools Vol­ley­ball League but their re­spec­tive chase has been put on hold due to the post­pone­ment of match­es un­til af­ter the Car­ni­val Fes­tiv­i­ties.

The fi­nals in both the boys and girls di­vi­sions were card­ed for to­day at the Na­tion­al Cy­cling Velo­drome, Cen­tre Court in Bal­main, Cou­va but have been post­poned to a ten­ta­tive March 7-date.

On Wednes­day at the same venue, St Joseph's swept the U-16s round-robin round for a per­fect 3-0 record. The de­fend­ing cham­pi­on made light work of South East Port-of-Spain (SE­POS), de­feat­ing them 15-6, 15-8 as well as AS­JA Girls, San Fer­nan­do (15-6, 15-7) and Ari­ma Cen­tral (15-3, 15-6) to se­cure the top place in Group B and book an au­to­mat­ic spot in the semi­fi­nals.

How­ev­er, due to time con­straints, the semi­fi­nals had to be post­poned, to a date to be an­nounced. St Joseph's Con­vent is card­ed to meet St George's Col­lege which de­feat­ed Ari­ma, 15-8, 16-14 in the cross-over quar­ter­fi­nals.

The In­ter­na­tion­al School of Port-of-Spain (ISPS) clinched the oth­er au­to­mat­ic semi­fi­nal po­si­tion af­ter top­ping Group A, al­so play­ing un­beat­en. ISPS got wins against Iere High (15-12, 15-11), St Joseph's Con­vent, Port-of-Spain (15-6 15-6) and St George's Col­lege (15-8, 15-8) and Holy Faith Con­vent Pe­nal (15-12, 15-8) to set up a meet­ing with SE­POS in the semi­fi­nal. SE­POS got the bet­ter of Iere High, 15-8, 15-6, in the quar­ter­fi­nal round.

On Tues­day, the U-14 fi­nal­ists were de­ter­mined with St Joseph's Con­vent (St Joseph) and ISPS, the two teams left stand­ing at the end of the day. Both teams played on un­de­feat­ed to earn a meet­ing in the ti­tle match.

St Joseph's out­played St George's (15-2, 15-5) SE­POS (10-15, 15-10, 15-11) and Holy Faith (15-8, 15-4) to top Group A be­fore tak­ing Bish­op Anstey, 15-9, 13-15, 15-11 in the semi­fi­nals.

In Group B, ISPS' wins came against AS­JA (15-2, 15-5), Bish­op Anstey (15-9, 15-8) and Ch­agua­nas North (15-8,15-6) in the pre­lim­i­nary round-robin stage then over SE­POS in the semi­fi­nals, win­ning 15-12, 15-6.

In the Girls Open fi­nal, St Joseph's Con­vent (St Joseph) will al­so seek to de­fend its ti­tle against ISPS.
