Flamenco fiesta coming to Queen's Hall

Three of Spain's renowned fla­men­co dancers Ana Morales, Mari­bel Ramo and Os­car de los Reyes, are sched­uled to be a part of the up­com­ing Una Noche de Gala pre­sent­ed by Whisky Pro­duc­tions on Sep­tem­ber 22 at Queen's Hall. Join­ing Morales, Ramo and de los Reyes in the one-night on­ly per­for­mance are singers Je­sus Cor­ba­cho, Vi­cente Ge­lo, Gui­tarist Michele Iac­cari­no and per­cus­sion­ist An­to­nio Mon­teil.

The group be­long to the Fun­daci�n Cristi­na Heeren de Arte Fla­men­co a pri­vate, non-prof­it foun­da­tion, cre­at­ed in 1993 by Cristi­na Heeren, an Amer­i­can cit­i­zen and lover of fla­men­co. The aim of the Cristi­na Heeren Foun­da­tion is to teach and con­serve fla­men­co.

Some of the Foun­da­tion's ex-stu­dents are now work­ing in their own com­pa­ny or with the most pres­ti­gious com­pa­nies (Bal­let Na­cional de Es­pa?a, Com­pa?�a Eva la Yerbabue­na, Com­pa?�a An­daluza de Dan­za). The group has per­formed at Palace of Ver­sailles, the Met­ro­pol­i­tan Mu­se­um of New York, the Thyssen Mu­se­um in Madrid, Gaud�'s Casa Bat­tl� in Barcelona, as well as sev­er­al Span­ish Em­bassies and for the Span­ish In­sti­tute in New York for her Majesty Queen Sof�a of Spain. Morales re­cent­ly won one of the most pres­ti­gious fla­men­co dance con­tests in Spain (Pre­mio el De­s­plante 2009. Ramos has been ac­claimed as one the best and more in­ter­est­ing new dancers.

De los Reyes is the nephew of the great fla­men­co dancer An­to­nio Canales, with whom he learned and with whom he has worked in many of his shows. Una Noche de Gala is be­ing held un­der the dis­tin­guished pa­tron­age of His Ex­cel­len­cy, Fer­nan­do de la Ser­na, Am­bas­sador of Spain and Be­len de la Ser­na. There will be a VIP sec­tion for a se­lect few. Pa­trons in this sec­tion will be treat­ed to pre-show Span­ish tapas and Span­ish wines, re­served seat­ing and VIP park­ing.
