Three of Spain's renowned flamenco dancers Ana Morales, Maribel Ramo and Oscar de los Reyes, are scheduled to be a part of the upcoming Una Noche de Gala presented by Whisky Productions on September 22 at Queen's Hall. Joining Morales, Ramo and de los Reyes in the one-night only performance are singers Jesus Corbacho, Vicente Gelo, Guitarist Michele Iaccarino and percussionist Antonio Monteil.
The group belong to the Fundaci�n Cristina Heeren de Arte Flamenco a private, non-profit foundation, created in 1993 by Cristina Heeren, an American citizen and lover of flamenco. The aim of the Cristina Heeren Foundation is to teach and conserve flamenco.
Some of the Foundation's ex-students are now working in their own company or with the most prestigious companies (Ballet Nacional de Espa?a, Compa?�a Eva la Yerbabuena, Compa?�a Andaluza de Danza). The group has performed at Palace of Versailles, the Metropolitan Museum of New York, the Thyssen Museum in Madrid, Gaud�'s Casa Battl� in Barcelona, as well as several Spanish Embassies and for the Spanish Institute in New York for her Majesty Queen Sof�a of Spain. Morales recently won one of the most prestigious flamenco dance contests in Spain (Premio el Desplante 2009. Ramos has been acclaimed as one the best and more interesting new dancers.
De los Reyes is the nephew of the great flamenco dancer Antonio Canales, with whom he learned and with whom he has worked in many of his shows. Una Noche de Gala is being held under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency, Fernando de la Serna, Ambassador of Spain and Belen de la Serna. There will be a VIP section for a select few. Patrons in this section will be treated to pre-show Spanish tapas and Spanish wines, reserved seating and VIP parking.
