MILLS: GERARD (April 7th, 1941) died at the Guelph General Hospital, Canada on Friday January 20, 2023. He was the son of Inez Hopkins (dec) and George Mills (dec.). Gerard was the brother of Anne (George dec) Winter-Roach, Robert (Elizabeth) Hopkins, and Joan Hopkins. Uncle to Simone, Andrew and Christian Winter-Roach, Anushka and Allyson Hopkins, Paul and David Ferdinand and Gillian Ferdinand-Mac Pherson. Friend of the Ferdinand and Herrera families. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Tammy Hurdle for the compassion she showed Gerard over several years and for her immeasurable help to them. We thank all those who loved Gerard and reached out in support and prayers to the family in his final days. To his comrades of the West India and Trinidad Regiments who admired him and supported him, thank you for being there for him. To his close friends who remember the music road he travelled, and shared his love of Jazz and Bossa-Nova, may you celebrate those moments in your memories and know how much he appreciated your friendships. The family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Trinidad and Tobago in lieu of flowers. A memorial will be held by zoom at a later date.
