There was on­ly one COVID-19 death in To­ba­go last week, a ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed per­son.  Their death brings the is­land’s death toll from the dis­ease to 282, as at Sat­ur­day, Sep­tem­ber 3.

An el­der­ly male with mul­ti­ple co­mor­bidi­ties is the lat­est per­son to have lost his life to COVID-19, ac­cord­ing to the most re­cent ad­vi­so­ry from the Min­istry of Health. His death has pushed up the na­tion­al death toll to 4,162 lives lost.

There were two new deaths—two ful­ly vac­ci­nat­ed peo­ple—from COVID-19 in To­ba­go, dur­ing the pe­ri­od Sun­day 21 to Sat­ur­day 27 Au­gust 2022, ac­cord­ing to the lat­est week­ly up­date from the Di­vi­sion of Health, Well­ness and So­cial Pro­tec­tion, in the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA).

Five more peo­ple—one el­der­ly male, 3 el­der­ly fe­males, and one mid­dle-aged male—have lost their lives to COVID-19, ac­cord­ing to the lat­est ad­vi­so­ry from the Min­istry of Health.  These lat­est deaths have pushed up the na­tion­al death toll to 4,105 lives lost.

There were two new deaths—two un­vac­ci­nat­ed peo­ple—from COVID-19 in To­ba­go, dur­ing the pe­ri­od Sun­day 14 to Sat­ur­day 20 Au­gust 2022, ac­cord­ing to the lat­est week­ly up­date from the Di­vi­sion of Health, Well­ness and So­cial Pro­tec­tion, in the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA).

Three more peo­ple—one el­der­ly male, one el­der­ly fe­male and one mid­dle-aged fe­male—have lost their lives to COVID-19, ac­cord­ing to the lat­est ad­vi­so­ry from the Min­istry of Health, for Sat­ur­day 20 Au­gust 2022. These lat­est deaths have pushed up the na­tion­al death toll to 4,095 lives lost.

Five more peo­ple—three el­der­ly males, and two el­der­ly fe­males—have lost their lives to COVID-19, ac­cord­ing to the lat­est ad­vi­so­ry from the Min­istry of Health, for Thurs­day 18 Au­gust 2022. These lat­est deaths have pushed up the na­tion­al death toll to 4,089 lives lost.

 Dur­ing a re­gion­al work­shop in Ar­genti­na, the Di­rec­tor of PA­HO called for coun­tries to in­crease in­vest­ment in epi­dem­ic and pan­dem­ic pre­pared­ness, be­cause the ques­tion is not “if there will be a new pan­dem­ic, but when...”
