An unvaccinated person is the latest COVID-19 victim in Tobago, according to the update for Thursday 3rd February 2022, released by the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA).
According to the update, this is the only new death recorded on the island over the past 24 hours, and it brings the total to 234 lives lost on the island, since March 2020.
More people have tested COVID-19 positive—some 16 new cases were recorded, bringing the current number of active positive cases to 410.
The Division’s update also reports that some 22 people currently are hospitalised with COVID-19. Of these, 18 have not been vaccinated at all against the disease, while 4 persons have been fully vaccinated.
The update also notes that a total of 6,031 people in Tobago have managed to recover from COVID-19.
