The body found in Couva on Saturday has been identified as 40-year-old CEPEP worker Darrel Lezama.
Relatives contacted the police after seeing online reports of a body fitting his description found at Basta Hall, Couva. He was the father of four .
Police received information around 5.30 pm on Saturday that a decomposing body was on the side of the road.
When the officers arrived at the scene, they saw the body was lying on it’s back in a grassy area under a tree about 50 feet from the roadway.
The word Popo was tattooed on the stomach.
The body has been taken to the Forensic Science Centre, Port- of- Spain for an autopsy.
Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region Three are investigating.
