The body found in Cou­va on Sat­ur­day has been iden­ti­fied as 40-year-old CEPEP work­er Dar­rel Leza­ma.

Rel­a­tives con­tact­ed the po­lice af­ter see­ing on­line re­ports of a body fit­ting his de­scrip­tion found at Bas­ta Hall, Cou­va. He was the fa­ther of four .

Po­lice re­ceived in­for­ma­tion around 5.30 pm on Sat­ur­day that a de­com­pos­ing body was on the side of the road.

When the of­fi­cers ar­rived at the scene, they saw the body was ly­ing on it’s back in a grassy area un­der a tree about 50 feet from the road­way.

The word Popo was tat­tooed on the stom­ach.

The body has been tak­en to the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre, Port- of- Spain for an au­top­sy.

Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion Three are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
