Now waking up in the Caribbean? Here's your morning brief on COP28.

- UNFCCC Executive Secretary, Simon Stiell, says COP28 must "deliver a bullet train to speed up climate action. We currently have an old caboose chugging over rickety tracks."

- On the Loss and Damage Fund, Stiell said we need enhanced transparency, and to deliver our promise to fund climate action across the world. "Loss and damage was a win, but we’re kidding ourselves if we think it’s a tick in the box for finance and support at this COP; more is required," the Grenadian added.

- A new report is warning the earth is on the verge of crossing five catastrophic climate tipping points as a result of carbon pollutions in the atmosphere, with three more in sight in the 2030s if the world heats more than 1.5C (2.7F) above pre-industrial levels.

- Europe’s climate monitor, the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) has announced that November became the sixth record-breaking month in a row for average temperatures.
