As dead­line day for evic­tion dawned, res­i­dents of Cromp­ston Trace, Crown Point To­ba­go were cap­tured this morn­ing re­mov­ing items from their home. The res­i­dents oc­cu­pied lands need­ed for the ANR Robin­son air­port ex­pan­sion project. 

Be­neath the rain­fall, some res­i­dents were seen clear­ing out ma­te­ri­als and ap­pli­ances. Last week, the high court dis­missed an ap­pli­ca­tion by res­i­dents for a ju­di­cial re­view to halt the ac­qui­si­tion process and was giv­en up un­til to­day to va­cate their prop­er­ties. 

Last month res­i­dents and po­lice clashed when au­thor­i­ties at­tempt­ed to ex­e­cute an evic­tion or­der. It was re­port­ed that while some res­i­dents of Zone Ds were sat­is­fied with their com­pen­sa­tion of­fer, oth­ers were not. 

The air­port ex­pan­sion project is ex­pect­ed to cost 1.2 bil­lion dol­lars.
