Parts of northeastern Trinidad were jolted by a magnitude 4.2 earthquake at 12.59 pm on Friday according to the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI SRC).
The quake was located at 10.692°N and 61.111°W, north of Sangre Grande and North East of Arima at a depth of 67 kilometers below the ground.
According to the UWI SRC, this event was reviewed by an analyst at the Centre, which remains the authority for seismic and volcanological information in the English-speaking Eastern Caribbean.
Three days ago, the UWI SRC recorded another earthquake offshore southeastern Trinidad. The event registered at a magnitude of 3.9 on the Richter Scale and occurred at 2:02 am on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
