EBC’s Princes Town office closed due to fire damage

The Elec­tions and Bound­aries Com­mis­sion (EBC) is ad­vis­ing that its Reg­is­tra­tion Area Of­fice for Princes Town, lo­cat­ed at 145 High Street, Princes Town—lo­cat­ed at the cor­ner of Na­pari­ma Ma­yaro Road and St. Croix Road—will be closed from to­day un­til fur­ther ad­vised.

In a state­ment apol­o­giz­ing for any in­con­ve­nience caused, the EBC said the of­fice clo­sure has be­come nec­es­sary due to a fire, which af­fect­ed the up­per lev­el of the build­ing, and is in the in­ter­est of pub­lic health and safe­ty.

The EBC as­sured the pub­lic that all reg­is­tra­tion doc­u­ments re­main in­tact.

"There was no dam­age to any records due to this fire. The of­fice will, how­ev­er, re­main closed whilst the nec­es­sary prepa­ra­tions are made to en­sure the safe­ty of both EBC staff and the pub­lic," the EBC’s re­lease said.
