An El Socorro family was robbed of over $300,000 in cash during a home invasion on Tuesday.
Police said three suspects went to the house around 12:19 pm on December 17, where one man came out pretending to enquire about fixing music in a white Nissan AD wagon which had been parked on the road in front of the gate.
Police said as the victim walked to the rear of the car, two other men exited and pointed guns at him, ordering him, “Doh say nothing, walk back inside.”
Following him into the house with his relatives, the suspects began demanding money, following which he took them to a wardrobe in his bedroom where they took $40,000 in cash, along with a quantity of jewellery.
The suspects later went to the bedroom belonging to the victim’s parents, where they found $300,000 in cash as well as US $2,000.
The TT currency was said to belong to seven adult family members who reside in the house.
The US currency was found in the family’s metal safe.
Police said in addition to the cash and jewellery, the bandits also took the DVR and security monitor for the CCTV cameras, which were in the living room.
Although the scene was processed, no workable prints were obtained.
However, officers canvassed the neighbourhood for CCTV footage recorded by people living close by.
