Police are probing several other murders across the country over the weekend.
In Chaguanas, investigations are continuing into the murder of a 50-year-old man yesterday morning.
The victim was identified as Robby “Dundee” Lutchmansingh, a labourer from John Street in Enterprise.
Police said around 1.50 am Lutchmansingh was returning home when three men armed with firearms, approached the vehicle he was in and opened fire on him.
Police said Lutchmansingh died instantly in the vehicle when he was shot. The gunmen then fled.
Man found murdered after gunshots heard
A 48-year-old Valencia man was found murdered at his home on Saturday afternoon after neighbours heard gunshots near his home the day before.
Police reports said Henry Jobe of Paradise Circular, Benny Road, Valencia was found around 4.50 pm. Relatives of Jobe reported to officers that after the gunshots were heard, Jobe was not seen or heard from. Officers of the Valencia Police Station accompanied relatives to his home.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Jobe’s front door was forced open. He was found lying on the floor near his bathroom with multiple gunshot wounds to the face and head.
Investigators so far have no motive for his killing.
Decomposing body fished out of Gulf of Paria
The decomposing body of a man was fished out of the Gulf of Paria yesterday morning.
Police said at about 8 am fishermen noticed the man’s body floating face down in the water.
With the help of the T&T Coast Guard, the man was removed from the water and taken to Staubles Bay before being sent to the Forensic Science Centre.
