Of­fi­cers of the Child Pro­tec­tion Unit ar­rest­ed five men of Cen­tral Trinidad dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise in con­nec­tion with 63 sex­u­al of­fences against mi­nors.
The CPU of­fi­cers, spear­head­ed by W/Supt. Natasha George, con­duct­ed the ex­er­cise be­tween 8:00 am and 3:00 pm on May 15th. They were as­sist­ed by of­fi­cers of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion’s Op­er­a­tions Unit. Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, dur­ing the ex­er­cise, five sus­pects, ages 24 to 70, were ar­rest­ed for var­i­ous of­fences against mi­nors in­clud­ing sex­u­al touch­ing and sex­u­al pen­e­tra­tion. Charges will be laid this week­end, and the men will ap­pear be­fore a Ch­agua­nas Mag­is­trate on May 18th.
