Officers of the Child Protection Unit arrested five men of Central Trinidad during an anti-crime exercise in connection with 63 sexual offences against minors.
The CPU officers, spearheaded by W/Supt. Natasha George, conducted the exercise between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm on May 15th. They were assisted by officers of the Central Division’s Operations Unit. According to police reports, during the exercise, five suspects, ages 24 to 70, were arrested for various offences against minors including sexual touching and sexual penetration. Charges will be laid this weekend, and the men will appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate on May 18th.
