The In­tegri­ty Com­mis­sion has a sixth mem­ber.

Gillian Wolffe-O’Neal was sworn in by Pres­i­dent Chris­tine Kan­ga­loo yes­ter­day at the Of­fice of the Pres­i­dent, St Ann’s.

In a state­ment, the Of­fice of the Pres­i­dent said Wolffe-O’Neil is an ex­pert in the area of the ap­plic­a­bil­i­ty and un­der­stand­ing of the tax laws of Trinidad and To­ba­go and Guyana.

It said Wolffe-O’Neil ob­tained a Bach­e­lor of Laws from the Uni­ver­si­ty of the West In­dies in 1986 and a Le­gal Ed­u­ca­tion Cer­tifi­cate from the Hugh Wood­ing Law School. She was ad­mit­ted to prac­tice law in T&T in 1989 and in Guyana in 2017.

Wolffe-O’Neil al­so holds a post-Grad­u­ate Ad­vanced Diplo­ma in Pub­lic Law and In­ter­na­tion­al Law from UWI.

She served nine years in the Min­istry of Fi­nance’s In­land Rev­enue Di­vi­sion, fol­low­ing which she be­came a se­nior man­ag­er at Price­wa­ter­house­C­oop­ers, where she pro­vid­ed tax ad­vi­so­ry ser­vices for clients in var­i­ous sec­tors.

She be­came the se­nior at­tor­ney at At­lantic LNG in 2006 and lat­er moved to KP­MG T&T, where she served as di­rec­tor of tax.

In 2024, Wolffe-O’Neil act­ed as a con­sul­tant in tax train­ing to pro­fes­sion­als in T&T and Guyana.

“Mrs Wolffe-O’Neil has al­so demon­strat­ed a strong in­ter­est in coun­selling and men­tor­ing young peo­ple in her com­mu­ni­ty,” the state­ment said.

Af­ter tak­ing her oath, Wolffe-O’Neal was pre­sent­ed with her In­stru­ment of Ap­point­ment by Pres­i­dent Kan­ga­loo, who con­grat­u­lat­ed her and wished her suc­cess in her new role.

The oth­er mem­bers of the com­mis­sion are Ha­dyn Git­tens (chair­man); Fred­er­ick Gilkes (deputy chair­man) and mem­bers Eleanor Bridge­man-Vol­ney, Michelle Palmer and Lorel­ly Pu­jadas.
