Po­lice be­lieve that a man found dead close to a ceme­tery in Clax­ton Bay yes­ter­day could be a 32-year-old miss­ing man. 

The man's body was dis­cov­ered un­der a band­stand around 6.45 am by a work­er who went to clean the Di­a­mond Ceme­tery.  

Po­lice said Curt­land Whar­wood of Par­ry­lands, Guapo was re­port­ed miss­ing on Tues­day.  His 78-year-old rel­a­tive told of­fi­cers that around 9 pm on Mon­day, he re­ceived in­for­ma­tion via so­cial me­dia of a video of Whar­wood ly­ing mo­tion­less with what ap­peared to be wounds to the head at an un­known lo­ca­tion.  

The rel­a­tive told po­lice he spoke with Whar­wood's moth­er, who had not heard from him, nor did she know his where­abouts.

The rel­a­tive told po­lice that Whar­wood left home in a car around 9 am on Mon­day. 

An au­top­sy is ex­pect­ed to be done at the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre to de­ter­mine the cause of death.

Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion 3 are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
