There have been no arrests yet in the murder of Couva mother of two Sherryann Roett who was brutally beaten and then hung from a tree.
Contacted by telephone yesterday, her mother Gail said she was unaware that a $100,000 reward had been offered for information relating to her daughter’s murder.
“I know nothing about that. All I know is my child die. I lose my daughter,” she said.
The reward was advertised on a popular television programme but another relative and a senior homicide officer said they did not know who was offering the money.
Roett’s was found hanging from a rope attached to a tree near a fish stall at Carli Bay, Couva on December 9. An autopsy at the Forensic Science Centre confirmed that she had been beaten to death.
There were injuries to her forehead, eye, under her left arm, nose bridge, and both hands and feet.
Roett’s uncle, Danny Kissoon, said she was killed hours before she was due to appear in court in a domestic matter. Police said Roett was not reported missing at any station.
