In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing in­to the theft of a quan­ti­ty of al­co­hol worth $25,000 from An­gos­tu­ra Ltd, East­ern Main Road, Laven­tille.

The rob­bery was re­port­ed­ly dis­cov­ered by the com­pa­ny’s In­ven­to­ry Con­trol Man­ag­er on Sat­ur­day (Jan­u­ary 4) at 1.05 pm, dur­ing an end-of-year stock check.

The 40-year-old com­pa­ny of­fi­cial re­port­ed to po­lice that pre-stock checks on De­cem­ber 28, 2024, of the ware­house, where the For­res Park Pun­cheon Rum and White Oak Rum were stored showed that all goods were ac­count­ed for.

How­ev­er, checks on Sat­ur­day re­vealed one pal­let, which con­sist­ed of 50 box­es with each box con­tain­ing 24 375ml glass bot­tles of For­res Park Pun­cheon Rum, were miss­ing.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors vis­it­ed the An­gos­tu­ra com­pound on the week­end and searched the ware­house, which is lo­cat­ed on the west­ern side of the com­pound. The fa­cil­i­ty on­ly op­er­ates from Mon­day to Fri­day dur­ing busi­ness hours.

Of­fi­cers are ex­pect­ed to re­turn to the com­pound to­day to con­duct an in­ter­nal search and re­view CCTV footage of the ware­house and com­pound. —An­na-Lisa Paul
