The Siparia Re­gion­al Cor­po­ra­tion on Sat­ur­day brought Christ­mas cheer to peo­ple whose homes were flood­ed in Oc­to­ber.

Chair­man of the Siparia Re­gion­al Cor­po­ra­tion Dr Glenn Ra­mad­hars­ingh said many cor­po­rate and pri­vate spon­sors joined forces to as­sist youths in the re­mote ar­eas of San Fran­cique.

Ra­mad­hars­ingh al­so reached out to help Prosam­nath Ram­dass whose ap­pli­ca­tion for a wheel­chair from the So­cial Ser­vices de­part­ment has gone unan­swered for three years.

Ra­mad­hars­ingh said he plans to ap­proach the pri­vate sec­tor for as­sis­tance to pur­chase a wheel­chair for Ram­dass.

Ram­dass, who is paral­ysed from the waist, now us­es a wheel­chair he bor­rowed from a neigh­bour.
