Police officers arrested three people, including two minors, and seized two firearms, quantities of ammunition, and narcotics during anti-crime exercises in the Western and Port-of-Spain Divisions yesterday.
In the first incident, officers from the West End Police Station conducted an exercise in the Diamond Vale district between 8:30 pm on December 15 and 1 am on December 16. They stopped a white Toyota Corolla with three men inside.
Officers searched the vehicle and discovered a pistol loaded with 13 rounds of ammunition and a quantity of cocaine.
The three suspects, aged 15 to 19 years old, all from Diego Martin, were arrested in connection with the finds.
Meanwhile, officers from the Inter-Agency Task Force conducted an exercise in the Laventille district between 11 am and 6 pm yesterday, in the Port-of-Spain and North Eastern Divisions. They found one pistol loaded with 13 rounds of ammunition.
They also recovered a Kia Sportage, which was reported stolen at gunpoint in the La Horquetta district on December 5.
Investigations are continuing.
