Sa­lome Bai­ley, Ori­on Dan­drade, and An­na Lee Titte stood out when the T&T Cy­cling Fed­er­a­tion held its Track Chal­lenge Se­ries at the week­end (Sep­tem­ber 21-22) at the Ari­ma Velo­drome. 

Sa­lome was a triple crown win­ner, while Dan­drade and Tit­tle each ped­alled their way to two ti­tles in front of a much more ap­pre­cia­tive Ari­ma crowd. Bai­ley, who has al­ready made a name for her­self in the sport de­spite her ten­der age, was again on the podi­um when she claimed the win­ner’s prize in the girls Un­der-7 di­vi­sion 100-me­tre dash in a time of 9.435 sec­onds. 

The Madon­na Wheel­ers rid­er (Bai­ley) was a dis­tant win­ner ahead of Pre­cious Son­ni­lal of Rigtech Son­ics (13.696) be­fore she re­turned to the tracks twice for the 250-me­tre scratch races, which pro­duced the same re­sults be­tween the same rid­ers. 

Dan­drade took the boys’ equiv­a­lent (U-7 boys) 100-me­tre dash, rep­re­sent­ing the Madon­na Wheel­ers, as he crossed the line at the fin­ish at 10.045 sec­onds. He left be­hind Daryn Prince (Va­por­wake Mul­ti­sport) in the sec­ond po­si­tion, Dar­ius St John (Rigtech Son­ics) in third, and Ethan Bachan (Rigtech Son­ics) in fourth, among many oth­er rid­ers. 

Dan­drade, like Bai­ley, made a tri­umphant re­turn to the track in the 250-me­tre sprint soon af­ter, but in the sec­ond 250-me­tre race he was held off by Prince. 

Titte, the Rigtech Son­ics cy­clist, had a sim­i­lar se­quence to Dan­drade in the girl’s U-13 di­vi­sion. She first claimed the wins in the 100-me­tre and 250-me­tres prints; how­ev­er, her third time on the tracks for the oth­er 250-me­tre race saw her fin­ish­ing third. In that race, Madon­na Wheel­ers rid­er Ash­ley Soo Hon came out from the dark to seal the win, ahead of sec­ond-place Lashay Nim­blett (Madon­na Wheel­ers).
