KINGSTON, Ja­maica – Trinida­di­an in­ter­na­tion­al An­dre Ray­mond will spend the re­main­der of the sea­son at Scot­tish Cham­pi­onship side Dun­fermline Ath­let­ic af­ter be­ing sent on loan by Scot­tish Pre­mier League out­fit, St John­stone.

The 24-year-old left back signed a two-year deal at St John­stone last sum­mer and has made 21 ap­pear­ances for the Saints in the Pre­mier League and League Cup this sea­son, with all but one be­ing starts.

How­ev­er, he has had lim­it­ed play­ing time un­der new head coach Si­mon Valakari, who took over in Oc­to­ber 2024.

His move to Scot­land comes af­ter mak­ing 63 ap­pear­ances for four Por­tuguese sides be­tween 2020 and 2024 – Lank Vilaver­dense, Cas­tro Daire, Du­miense and Vi­lar De Perdizes.

In a state­ment, Dun­fermline Ath­let­ic said they were look­ing for­ward to Ray­mond join­ing the club.

“Dun­fermline are pleased to con­firm the sign­ing of Trinidad and To­ba­go in­ter­na­tion­al An­dre Ray­mond on-loan from St John­stone un­til the end of the sea­son,” it read, while al­so an­nounc­ing that Ray­mond will wear the num­ber 13 jer­sey.

Head coach Michael Tidser said he be­lieves the ad­di­tion of an­oth­er left-back will add com­pe­ti­tion for places.

“You can see the club is try­ing to get play­ers and help the squad. An­dre played a lot for St John­stone at the start of the sea­son, but ob­vi­ous­ly the new man­ag­er com­ing in doesn’t re­al­ly fan­cy him, so, we hope we can get a wee tune out of him from now to the end of the sea­son,” Tidser said.
