KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trinidadian international Andre Raymond will spend the remainder of the season at Scottish Championship side Dunfermline Athletic after being sent on loan by Scottish Premier League outfit, St Johnstone.
The 24-year-old left back signed a two-year deal at St Johnstone last summer and has made 21 appearances for the Saints in the Premier League and League Cup this season, with all but one being starts.
However, he has had limited playing time under new head coach Simon Valakari, who took over in October 2024.
His move to Scotland comes after making 63 appearances for four Portuguese sides between 2020 and 2024 – Lank Vilaverdense, Castro Daire, Dumiense and Vilar De Perdizes.
In a statement, Dunfermline Athletic said they were looking forward to Raymond joining the club.
“Dunfermline are pleased to confirm the signing of Trinidad and Tobago international Andre Raymond on-loan from St Johnstone until the end of the season,” it read, while also announcing that Raymond will wear the number 13 jersey.
Head coach Michael Tidser said he believes the addition of another left-back will add competition for places.
“You can see the club is trying to get players and help the squad. Andre played a lot for St Johnstone at the start of the season, but obviously the new manager coming in doesn’t really fancy him, so, we hope we can get a wee tune out of him from now to the end of the season,” Tidser said.
