30-year-old Mar­lon Ma­coon ap­peared be­fore a San Fer­nan­do Mag­is­trate yes­ter­day, charged with pos­ses­sion of a firearm and am­mu­ni­tion. He was or­dered to un­der­go a PCR test as he was ex­hibit­ing Covid-19 symp­toms. In­struc­tions were al­so giv­en to have him tak­en to St. Ann’s Psy­chi­atric Hos­pi­tal as he has a his­to­ry of men­tal ill­ness.

The Min­istry of Health has record­ed 5 ad­di­tion­al COVID re­lat­ed death. This brings the to­tal num­ber of deaths to 3,746. There are cur­rent­ly 175 pa­tients in the hos­pi­tal. The min­istry has al­so record­ed 261 new COVID cas­es in the last 24 hours, bring­ing the to­tal num­ber of ac­tive cas­es to 7,031.

GENE­VA (AP) — The num­ber of peo­ple killed by the coro­n­avirus surged by more than 40% last week, like­ly due to changes in how COVID-19 deaths were re­port­ed across the Amer­i­c­as and by new­ly ad­just­ed fig­ures from In­dia, ac­cord­ing to a World Health Or­ga­ni­za­tion re­port re­leased Wednes­day.
