The ANSA McAL Foun­da­tion has an­nounced five awardees for the 2022 An­tho­ny N. Sab­ga Awards.

At a cer­e­mo­ny on Thurs­day morn­ing, the Foun­da­tion an­nounced the 2022 Lau­re­ates who will each re­ceive the An­tho­ny N. Sab­ga Caribbean Awards for Ex­cel­lence Gold Medal and Ci­ta­tion, TT$500,000 and an op­por­tu­ni­ty for vis­i­bil­i­ty and sup­port across the Caribbean re­gion.

This year’s awardees are: Ja­maican au­thor, Mar­lon James in the Arts and Let­ters cat­e­go­ry, Guyanese busi­ness­man, Shyam Nok­ta in the En­tre­pre­neur­ship cat­e­go­ry, Bar­ba­di­an oph­thal­mol­o­gist and ocu­lo­plas­tic sur­geon, Dr Kim Je­bodhs­ingh and Suri­namese en­tre­pre­neur, Anuskha Var­sha Son­ai were joint­ly award­ed in the Pub­lic & Civic Con­tri­bu­tions cat­e­go­ry and Trinida­di­an, Pro­fes­sor Chris­tine Car­ring­ton in the Sci­ence and Tech­nol­o­gy cat­e­go­ry.
