A quantity of high-grade compressed cannabis was seized during a police operation conducted in St. James last night, the Police Service is reporting.

Guardian Media understands the police officers had received information that led them to search a house located at Kandahar Street, where they unearthed a suitcase, a black garbage bag and a crocus bag in which they found some 70 packages of cannabis with a combined weight of 36.6 kilogrammes.
Meanwhile, during an exercise carried out between 10 am and 8 pm on New Year’s Day, Western Division Task Force officers arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with robbery offences.
Also taken into police custody were a 38-year-old suspect for shooting offences in the Diego Martin area, and a 19-year-old for larceny.
The TTPS says investigations are ongoing into the above matters.
