A quantity of high-grade compressed cannabis was seized during a police operation conducted in St. James last night, the Police Service is reporting.

According to an official statement, the operation was conducted around 7:45 pm, on Wednesday 1 January 2025. It was spearheaded by ACP Tactical Support Collis Hazel, coordinated by Snr. Supt. Montrichard, Supt. Frank and ASP Pierre, and supervised by Insps. Piquette and Haynes.

Guardian Media understands the police officers had received information that led them to search a house located at Kandahar Street, where they unearthed a suitcase, a black garbage bag and a crocus bag in which they found some 70 packages of cannabis with a combined weight of 36.6 kilogrammes.

Meanwhile, during an exercise carried out between 10 am and 8 pm on New Year’s Day, Western Division Task Force officers arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with robbery offences.

The TTPS says investigations are ongoing into the above matters.
