A 25-year-old Cunupia man has appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with the murder of Keshav Jahgoo, which occurred on December 17, 2024.
A Police Service release reports that Daniel Ragoonath of Jonathan Trace, Cunupia, was charged with the offence when he appeared before Master Franklin, in the North Court B, on Friday 27 December 2024.
The Sufficiency Hearing is set for June 25, 2025.
According to reports, 38-year-old labourer, Keshav Jahgoo, was last seen in the company of another man in the Cunupia district, around 11 pm, on December 17, 2024. His body was found the next day with stab wounds.
Following investigations spearheaded by Supt. Persad, and supervised by W/Insp. Stephen-James, both of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region Three, one man was held on December 19, in connection with the matter.
Daniel Ragoonath was charged by WPC Tricia Knights, also of HBI Region Three, on December 26, following advice received from Acting Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Sabrina DougdeenJaglal, on December 25, 2024
