A 25-year-old Cunu­pia man has ap­peared be­fore a Mas­ter of the High Court, charged with the mur­der of Ke­shav Jah­goo, which oc­curred on De­cem­ber 17, 2024.

A Po­lice Ser­vice re­lease re­ports that Daniel Ra­goonath of Jonathan Trace, Cunu­pia, was charged with the of­fence when he ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter Franklin, in the North Court B, on Fri­day 27 De­cem­ber 2024.

The Suf­fi­cien­cy Hear­ing is set for June 25, 2025.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, 38-year-old labour­er, Ke­shav Jah­goo, was last seen in the com­pa­ny of an­oth­er man in the Cunu­pia dis­trict, around 11 pm, on De­cem­ber 17, 2024. His body was found the next day with stab wounds.

Fol­low­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions spear­head­ed by Supt. Per­sad, and su­per­vised by W/In­sp. Stephen-James, both of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions (HBI) Re­gion Three, one man was held on De­cem­ber 19, in con­nec­tion with the mat­ter.

Daniel Ra­goonath was charged by WPC Tri­cia Knights, al­so of HBI Re­gion Three, on De­cem­ber 26, fol­low­ing ad­vice re­ceived from Act­ing Deputy Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions, Sab­ri­na Dougdeen­Jaglal, on De­cem­ber 25, 2024
