A 36-year-old labour­er was grant­ed bail in the sum of $150,000 with a sure­ty, when he ap­peared be­fore Mag­is­trate Ali­cia Chankar, at the Point Fortin Mag­is­trates’ Court on March 6, af­ter he was charged with three counts of sex­u­al pen­e­tra­tion. 

As part of the bail con­di­tion, the ac­cused was or­dered to stay one hun­dred feet away from the vic­tim, he shall not have any form of con­tact di­rect­ly or in­di­rect­ly with the vic­tim, and he shall re­port to the Po­lice Sta­tion in his dis­trict every day. 

The ac­cused is ex­pect­ed to reap­pear in court on next Tues­day. Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, on Wednes­day, March 23, 2022, a teenag­er and her rel­a­tive, ar­rived at the Child Pro­tec­tion Unit, Point Fortin, where they stat­ed that the teenag­er was seen in pho­tographs and videos hav­ing sex­u­al in­ter­course with an adult male.
