A 39-year-old La Ro­maine man has died at hos­pi­tal fol­low­ing a shoot­ing in­ci­dent near his home on Tues­day evening.

The de­ceased has been con­firmed to be Matthew Sci­pio of Pond Street, La Ro­maine.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, around 6 pm on Tues­day 2 Feb­ru­ary 2021, Sci­pio walked to a gal­vanise shed at the back of his home to get Wi-Fi from a neigh­bour to call his wife.  His rel­a­tives re­port hear­ing sev­er­al loud ex­plo­sions.  Sci­pio then ran in­side his home bleed­ing from gun­shot wounds.

He was tak­en to the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal where he died.

Of­fi­cers of the San Fer­nan­do CID and Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions vis­it­ed the scene and in­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.
