Quick re­sponse from of­fi­cers at­tached to the North Cen­tral Di­vi­sion re­sult­ed in the ar­rest of two sus­pects and the seizure of two firearms on Tues­day.

Around 10:10 pm yes­ter­day, it is al­leged three men armed with firearms ex­it­ed a ve­hi­cle and robbed a vic­tim of her white Hyundai Elantra mo­tor car and drove off.

A re­port was made to the Arou­ca Po­lice Sta­tion and mem­bers of the Arou­ca CID and North Cen­tral Di­vi­sion, Task Force, Area West im­me­di­ate­ly sprang in­to ac­tion and went in search of the sus­pects and the stolen ve­hi­cle. An all-points bul­letin was al­so broad­cast­ed. The ve­hi­cle was spot­ted in the vicin­i­ty of the Curepe in­ter­change on the Churchill Roo­sevelt High­way and a high-speed chase en­sued.

Mem­bers of the NCD Task Force in­ter­cept­ed the stolen ve­hi­cle in Sea Lots, Port of Spain, where there was a shoot-out. Two sus­pects were wound­ed and have been ap­pre­hend­ed. A search of the ve­hi­cle re­sult­ed in two pis­tols with am­mu­ni­tion be­ing seized. The sus­pects were wound­ed and tak­en for med­ical at­ten­tion, they are now as­sist­ing of­fi­cers with the in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
