Two new COVID cases, one requires investigation

Trinidad and To­ba­go has reg­is­tered two new cas­es of COVID-19.

A state­ment by the Min­istry of Health yes­ter­day said that one of the cas­es was im­port­ed from Cana­da.

The sec­ond case is pend­ing epi­demi­o­log­i­cal in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

The Health Min­istry said that all es­tab­lished pro­to­cols have been im­ple­ment­ed.

The min­istry did not state where the new cas­es are to be ward­ed.

The min­istry is re­mind­ing mem­bers of the pub­lic that they must to ad­here to the “New Nor­mal” rec­om­men­da­tions and take the fol­low­ing per­son­al health mea­sures to pro­tect them­selves and their loved ones from COVID-19.

These in­clude wear­ing a mask over the nose and mouth when in pub­lic, keep­ing a six-foot dis­tance from oth­ers, stay­ing at home if ill, clean­ing then sani­tis­ing sur­faces, wash­ing hands of­ten with soap and wa­ter and us­ing an al­co­hol-based hand san­i­tiz­er, cough in­to a tis­sue or in­to the crook of the el­bow, and avoid­ing touch­ing the face.

The new cas­es take the num­ber in T&T up to 139.
